This docuseries follows the stories of the New World Symphony Fellows and prominent guest artists as they prepare for a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and Samuel Barber’s Cello Concerto. Featuring rising conductor Gemma New and world-renowned cellist Alisa Weilerstein, the program offers a vantage into serious artistry in a manner not seen before. The program aired on both the PBS Great Performances and New World Symphony YouTube channels.

Scoring the series presented unique challenges. Original music appears alongside masterworks of the orchestral cannon. The approach chosen was utilizing members of the orchestra and creating unique, modern articulations which were sampled and then used in more contemporary musical settings.
